Secondary control circuit

Secondary control circuit

A secondary control circuit is an additional control loop within a thermal oil system. It is used to regulate the temperature directly at the consumer with high precision – independently of the temperature in the primary circuit. Secondary control circuits are used when individuel consumers have different or particularly constant temperature requirements.

System Properties:

Secondary control circuits supply consumers with heat and cold at precisely adjustable media temperatures. With a single heat source, a wide range of different temperature levels and capacities can be achieved. AURA secondary circuits are available both with and without coolers.

How a secondary control circuit works

In the primary circuit, the thermal oil is heated to a higher base temperature. The secondary control circuit draws the required amount of heat from the primary circuit and regulates the temperate at the consumer via:

  • Temperature sensor
  • Control valve
  • Secondary pump

This ensures that the desired setpoint temperature is maintained consistently, even under fluctuating load conditions. Optionally, the secondary control circuit can also integrate a cooling function to enable rapid temperature reductions.

Your advantages

  • Precise temperature control at the consumer
  • Stabilization of sensitive processes
  • Independent control of individual system components
  • Integration into existing thermal oil systems

Typical applications

  • Reactors
  • Presses
  • Extruders
  • Drying systems
  • Plastics processing

When individual consumers have different or very precise temperature requirements.

Yes, secondary control circuits can be easily integrated into existing thermal oil systems.

Yes, depending on the design, a heating/cooling control system can be implemented.

Yes, through stable and consistent temperature control.

Indirectly yes, as overheating and unnecessary peak loads are avoided.
