Electrifying Industrial Process Heat

Utilise efficient electric process heat—tailored precisely to your application. AURA designs and implements electrically heated process heat systems for retrofitting existing systems, phased transformation concepts and new production systems.

In electrically heated process heat systems, electricity is converted directly into heat within the heat generator. Depending on the process, the electric heater may, for example, heat thermal oil or generate steam. The heat is then transported in a controlled manner to the relevant consumer. Sensors, temperature control and power controllers adjust the heating output to the actual process demand.

Electrifying industrial process heat is particularly attractive when fossil fuels are to be replaced, direct emissions reduced or production processes aligned with an electric energy supply in the long term.

Reduce direct emissions at the installation site

Where no fuel is combusted, no combustion-related CO₂ or NOx emissions are generated at the heat generator. The overall carbon footprint of the heat produced depends on the source of the electricity used.

Control process heat precisely

Electric heating output can be adjusted quickly and according to demand to match the actual heat requirement. This enables stable temperature levels and supports reproducible production conditions.

Avoid combustion-related maintenance

Burners, fuel supply systems and combustion-related components are no longer required. This reduces the associated maintenance and servicing work.

Eliminate the need for fossil-fuel infrastructure

Electric heat generation requires neither a gas nor an oil supply. This is particularly relevant for new systems or sites without existing gas infrastructure.

Electrically heated systems can be designed compactly and easily integrated into existing structures. This creates additional possibilities where space is limited.

Use renewable electricity for process heat

Existing process heat systems do not necessarily have to be completely rebuilt. Depending on their condition and design, existing heat-transfer circuits, consumers and other components can continue to be used, while fossil-fuel heat generation is replaced or supplemented with an electric solution.

For a new production line or site, electric heat generation can already be considered during the concept phase. This allows the heat generator, heat-transfer medium, consumers, control system and electrical infrastructure to be aligned from the very beginning.
